Golden Gate

Golden Gate is located east of Naples in Collier County, Florida.

Golden Gate consists of 4.1 square miles.

Golden Gate started as a vision of a 175 acre development named Golden Gate Estates. The development was started by the Rosen Brothers, and their company General American Land Corporation. This was the same company that originally developed Cape Coral in Lee County.

Unlike Cape Coral, Golden Gates Estates never quite got off the ground. Today much of the 175 acres remains undeveloped and is in the process of being purchased through the state’s conservation program.

The unlikely bi-product of the development’s failure has been the creation of a rural setting now known as Golden Gate.

With nature and unspoiled lands as far as the eye can see, Golden Gate has become an area where those looking for more land than homes have moved.

Golden Gate still remains relatively unspoiled and home to much of Southwest Florida’s natural wildlife inhabitants.
